Executive Team
Originally founded in 1985, no other major precious metals and coin dealer has operated under the same name and in the same location as long as Merit Financial. Located on the third floor of the Wells Fargo building in Santa Monica, Merit is a division of Seacoast Coin, Inc., a privately owned company which has never been bought or sold. This lets Merit keep their focus where it belongs: helping clients meet their precious metals needs.
Peter M. Epstein, President and CEO
Raised in Bayside, NY, Peter founded Merit Financial to meet growing investment demand for precious metals and coins. He is a graduate of Kent State University and holds a Masters Degree in Education from the University of Arizona, Tucson. Peter is a 35 year resident of Santa Monica, CA, and serves on the board of directors for the Police Athletic League. He is a Los Angeles County Reserve Deputy Sheriff, and an active member of his community.
Mike Getlin, Executive Vice President
Raised in Portland, OR, Mike began trading precious metals professionally after graduating from Harvard University with a degree in Government. He was promoted to Senior Vice President in 2007, and currently oversees trading, research and operations for Merit.
May Dumadag, Vice President of Operations
A native of San Diego, CA, May holds a degree in English from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and currently studies business law at the University of California, Los Angeles. She joined Merit in 2008, and currently oversees operations and client services.
